lunes, el trece de octubre del dos mil ocho

Español Uno (1):

Today's Learning Objectives:

1. Read for seven minutes during SSR.

2. Discuss what we did over the weekend using the "¿Qué hiciste durante el fin de semana?" handout.

3. Finish reading the story "Alberto y la mantequilla." Get it signed, by reading to an adult, for FRIDAY...not tomorrow.

4. Discuss what to expect on tomorrow's test. As Spanish 1 students, your first test is a bit special. I won't be assessing speaking on your first test. Nor will I be assessing much writing. You are largely still in the "listening phase" of language learning, so most of the test will be showing me that you can understand what you hear and read.

Quick discussion about the grading of tomorrow's test. Your test will not be entered as one big score. Instead, each skill assessed will be entered into the gradebook separately. For tomorrow's test there will be a culture score, a reading score, a listening score, a vocabulary score, a grammar score, and a small writing score.

5. Quick example of what a grammar section could look like on tomorrow's test:

Tell me what the following actions mean, as well as who is doing them:
--escriben [Answer: they write]
--ando [Answer: I walk]
--dibujamos [Answer: we draw]
--bailas [Answer: you dance]
--agarra [Answer: s/he grabs]
--cocinar [Answer: to cook]

6. (1st period only, due to time): Review of 1-5 in the workbook.

Homework: Study for tomorrow's test!!! For FRIDAY, read the story of "Alberto y la mantequilla" to an adult.
