Español Uno (1):

Today’s Learning Objectives:

1. Receive the chapter 4/12 food quiz from before break.

2. Listen to and sing “Ocho kandelikas.”

3. With a partner, tackle a chapter 0-4 practice grammar quiz. Topics include:

personal pronouns (I, you, he, she, you-formal, we, they, y'all)
regular verbs
"boot" verbs (empezar, poder, querer)
irregular verbs (tener, ser, estar, ir)
definite articles ("the")
indefinite articles ("a/an/some")
possessive pronouns ("my, your")
talking about the future (ir + a + infinitivo)
some verbs in the past (I went, I did, I saw, I had to)
infinitives

4. As a class, correct answers to the grammar quiz.

5. Practice our gestures.

Homework: Study your practice grammar quiz. You should anticipate seeing a similar quiz this week.


Español Dos (2):

Today’s Learning Objectives:

1. Complete our para empezar warm-up: How well do you recall the chapter 4 sports vocabulary?

2. Listen to and sing “Ocho kandelikas”.

3. With a partner, tackle an irregular preterite verb grammar quiz.

4. Review answers to practice quiz.

5. Practice listening—using your illustrations from chapter two of Pobre Ana bailó tango, which scene am I describing?

6. Practice speaking—using your illustrations from chapter two of Pobre Ana bailó tango, retell the chapter in your own words to a partner.

7. Listen as some volunteers share aloud their version of chapter two of Pobre Ana bailó tango.

Homework: Study your irregular preterite verbs. This Thursday & Friday we will be having a third speaking assessment, much like the first two.
