Español Uno (1):

Reminder: To take advantage of my special final exam offer (see post for 1/5/09), you need to have ALL work completed (late work will count). Do not wait until just before finals to tackle any missing work.

Today’s Learning Objectives:

1. Do our “para empezar” warm-up. [Conjuga los verbos irregulares ser, estar, ir & tener.]

2. Receive last Thursday’s grammar quizzes. Nice preparation, Spanish 1!

3. Read, in Spanish, for nine minutes during SSR.

4. Discuss what we did over the weekend, answering the following questions with a complete sentence in Spanish.

--¿A quién viste? [Sample answer: Vi a mi amiga Carly.]
--¿Qué hiciste para la clase de español? [Sample answer: Trabajé en 5-1 & 5-2 para la clase de español.]
--¿Tuviste que trabajar? [Sample answer: No, no tuve que trabajar.]
--¿Fuiste al cine? [Sample answer: No, no fui al cine pero vi la película "Napoleon Dynamite" en la televisión. Me gustó.]
--¿Cuál fue tu parte favorita del fin de semana? [Sample answer: Mi parte favorita del fin de semana fue cuando vi “Gran Torino.”]

5. (1st hour only): Review 5-1 in the workbook.

Homework: 5-3 & 5-4 in the workbook (with everything additionally translated to English.)

Español Dos (2):

Announcements: Chapter 5 vocabulary will be on the final exam. Please prioritize the underlined vocabulary on your pink packet.

1. Read, in Spanish, for ten minutes during SSR.

2. Discuss what we did over the weekend, answering the questions below:

--¿A quién viste? [Sample answer: Vi a mis abuelos. Vinieron a mi casa para visitarnos.]
--¿Qué hiciste con tu familia? [Sample answer: Vimos los Golden Globes y comimos burritos para la cena.]
--¿Tuviste que trabajar? [Sample answer: Tuve que ayudar en casa. Tuve que limpiar mi cuarto y el baño.]
--¿Fuiste al cine? [Sample answer: Sí, fui al cine con amigas y vimos “Bride Wars.” Me encantó.]
--¿Cuál fue tu parte favorita del fin de semana? [Sample answer: Mi parte favorita del fin de semana fue cuando por fin pude dormir.]

3. Receive the chapter 5 vocabulary list and define new vocab.
