martes, el cuatro de mayo del dos mil diez

Español Uno (1):

Today’s Agenda:

1. (1st hour only): Hear from our class senator regarding important announcements.
(2nd hour only): Practice five of our basic questions: #’s 19, 20, 22, 24 & 29.

2. Tackle a quick reading & ten true/false questions in table groups.

3. Listen to our new song of the week: “Amores lejanos.” Nice job catching the first three missing phrases: se fue, la, mirando.

4. Practice our ch. 9 gestures.

5. Briefly discuss reflexive verbs.

Reflexive verbs often communicate “-self.” You’ve already seen these used, but now we’re officially seeing them in conjugation charts. You know a verb is “reflexive” if you see “se” added to its infinitive.

VER (to see—NOT reflexive)………………………….VERSE (to see oneself—REFLEXIVE)
veo…………………vemos……………………………………me veo…………………….nos vemos
ves………………………………………………………………….te ves……………………………………….
ve…………………..ven………………………………………..se ve…………………………se ven

**It doesn’t matter if your verb is in the present, past, future, etc. You still include the word “-self”

**All that’s new is remembering that you MUST put the word “-self” (me, te, se, nos, se) out in front of the conjugated verb.

¿Cómo se dice?
--he cut himself…………………………se cortó
--I burned myself……………………..me quemé
--we wash ourselves…………………nos lavamos
--Did you “break” yourself?.......¿Te rompiste…?
--they stay (“themselves”)………..se quedan

6. Begin the homework.
