Today’s Agenda:
1. Practice pronouncing unknown words in Spanish, using our knowledge of Spanish phonetics. Quick discussion about the hard/soft G & C sounds. A “hard G” sound includes: GA, GO, GU. A “soft G” sound includes: GE, GI. A “hard C” sound includes: CA, CO, CU. A “soft C” sound includes: CE, CI.
2. Discuss upcoming weekend plans.
3. Practice retelling yesterday’s story to a new partner. Students were reminded that future speaking assessments will be in this format, where they tell me a story based upon pictures. We will practice this skill throughout the rest of the year.
4. Practice writing yesterday’s story in 100+ words. Students were reminded that their future writing assessments will be in this format, where they write me a story. We will practice this skill throughout the rest of the year.
5. (Time allowing): Begin with the homework.
Homework: Illustrate one four-frame story on the page provided. Please follow the instructions to include visual details about the weather, time, people’s emotions, different places, and conversation bubbles. Leave the conversation bubbles blank. There should be no words written. An illustration that goes above-and-beyond has the opportunity for extra credit. You don’t need to be artistic to put in lots of careful details and possibly receive extra credit.
