4. Establish gestures for some of our new ch. 5 vocabulary.
5. Tackle 5-1 & 5-2.
6. (6th period only): Receive the written section of the final exam.

1. Practice spelling unknown words in Spanish.
2. Listen to our new song of the week: “One, Two, Three, Go!” Nice job catching the first three missing words: lo que, cierras, te quiero.
3. Finish reading yesterday’s story as a class.
4. Illustrate six scenes from the story:
--Había un estudiante que se llamaba Paul. Paul quería estar de moda como Steve Carrell.
--Así que un día Paul fue a Macy’s para buscar la ropa.
--Macy’s tenía suéteres, pero no tenía suéteres de tamaño mediano.
--Paul se puso muy enojado.
--Paul decidió ir a Starbuck’s. Paul vio a Steve Carrell en Starbuck’s.
--A Steve Carrell le gustaba la ropa de Paul. Paul se sintió muy feliz.
5. Practice telling the story above to a partner.
6. Receive the ch. 5 pink packet & briefly discuss our new verb tense: the imperfect. We began to fill out definitions, as well.

4. In our new table groups, tackle the story “La moda de Steve Carell,” guessing the meanings of the underlined vocabulary.
5. As a class, begin to read through the story.

1. Tackle four of our irregular preterite verbs: dar, haber, ponerse & traer. Remember that your upcoming grammar quiz on Thursday will largely focus on irregular preterite verbs.
2. Read, in Spanish, for ten minutes during SSR.
3. Discuss the weekend, answering some of our fundamental weekend questions.
4. With a partner, tackle a mock version of the upcoming speaking assessment. Three minutes flies by! Make sure you’re practicing at home, so you answer all twelve questions well on the day of your speaking assessment.
5. Practice recalling our countries & capitals on maps 1 & 2, in anticipation of Tuesday’s culture quiz.

Today’s Agenda:
1. Read, in Spanish, for ten minutes during SSR. Students also looked up at least one of their word guesses in our student dictionaries.
2. Receive our last grammar quizzes. Remember, while you only needed to be able to recognize the irregular preterite verbs on the last grammar quiz, you will need to be able to produce them for the next grammar quiz.
3. Discuss the weekend, answering the following questions:
--¿Estuviste de vacaciones en otro sitio (otro lugar)?
--¿Te aburriste durante las vacaciones?
--¿Qué hiciste para divertirte?
--¿A quiénes les dijiste “Feliz Año Nuevo” el primero de enero a las doce de la mañana?
--¿Te visitaron los parientes (relatives)? ¿Te trajeron regalos? ¿O los visitaste tú? ¿Les trajiste regalos?
4. Teacher check-in for mandatory extra practice during the break for all students scoring less than 80% on either the grammar or vocabulary sections of our second cumulative test.
